Citizen participation in decision-making processes related to issues important to all is one of the main aspects of the public capacity to anticipate risks, create workable solutions and implement them so that their negative consequences are limited.
To explore this aspect of the public capacity, in the period May-June 2025, the project team will organize and conduct 3 civil panels – one in each of the three regions of Bulgaria most affected by the green transition. Namely: in Kystendil on May, 16, in Pernik on May, 30, in Stara Zagora on June 26, 2025г.
Representatives of various stakeholders are invited to participate and topics such as: combining green and social goals, justice, moral dimensions, citizen participation in decision-making processes will be discussed. The goal of this approach is to discuss topics that are associated with contradictory opinions, tension and conflicts in society and to seek consensus.
The civil panels are also linked to the EC initiative - Sustainable Energy Days (
Sustainable Energy Days - European Commission), part of the European Energy Sustainable Week. This increases the visibility of the discussions held and their dissemination.
